In Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, there are a lot of missable objectives and achievements. So much so that, if you aren’t playing with a guide opened in another tab, you may miss something crucial. For example, one of the achievements is to receive a piece of mail from every possible sender. And, to add insult to injury, some senders only send mail if you go out of your way to find and interact with them.

Hiding somewhere in Sector 8 is an NPC known as The Reporter. If you find and interact with him, there’ll be two choices — report him, or let him go. It can be tough deciding from such an ambiguous set of options, so we’ll save you the agony of wondering what could’ve been. Read on to learn what happens in the aftermath of each option so you can know which to go with.

Should You Report the Reporter or Let Him Go?

So, we’ll save you the suspense. The Reporter NPC is tied to the Mail Completionist achievement. To be specific, reporting The Reporter will result in him disappearing and never appearing again.

On the other hand, you can look the other way and you’ll receive periodic mail providing an outsider’s perspective on your situation. To be frank, this is one of those scenarios where you need to ask yourself what Zack Fair would do. If your view of Zack would be a good SOLDIER and report Shinra dissidents, then … you know what to do. But, if your view of Zack is someone who does the right thing despite it being against his current employer, then you can let The Reporter go. It’s up to you!
