There is a hidden uninhabited island quest in Genshin Impact many players may not know. Far off the eastern coast of Teyvat is a hidden island that is not on the map. You can only reach this location with Kaeya by using his Elemental skill to freeze the water and walk across it. How to complete Time and the Wind in Genshin Impact
To complete Time and the Wind and solve the uninhabited island’s secret, you’ll need to follow these steps outlined below. We’ll go into more detail for each step, as well.
- Get to the hidden island with Kaeya
- Interact with the Ravaged Carving on the Sundial
- Find the Ragged Notebook
- Disperse the three clusters of wind
- Scatter the deposit of wind
- Search for the Eye of the Storm and defeat it
Get to the hidden island with Kaeya
Your first step is to get to the hidden island using Kaeya’s Cryo element ability. Start by fast traveling to the Starfell Valley, Mondstadt waypoint. Put Kaeya in your party, and make sure you have an Anemo character. The main character (traveler) works fine if you don’t have another option.
Use Kaeya, and start using your Frostgnaw ability to freeze the water and make a path to the island. You will need to use your ability every time it’s off cooldown. Otherwise, the ice beneath you will melt, and you’ll drown and have to start over!
Interact with the Ravaged Carving on the Sundial
When you finally get to the island, interact with the large sundial. You should see an option to interact with a “Ravaged Carving” on it. After doing that, you’ll need to find some clues, which brings us to the next step.
Find the Ragged Notebook
Jump down to the right of the sundial, and you should see some destructible rocks. Use a claymore to destroy them quickly, and find the Ragged Notebook hidden inside. Collect the quest item, and proceed back to the sundial and interact with it.
Disperse the three clusters of wind
From here on out, it’s important to ensure your in-game time is between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM. If your time is not right, you won’t be able to see the wind orbs. Next, we’ll need to find and activate three wind orbs around the island. Again, these are only visible between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Use your elemental vision ability to see the orbs.
Wind Orb 1: The first wind orb is east of the dial. There’s a structure with two arcs in the water. You should see the orb on top of it toward the middle when using your elemental vision ability. Head over there and activate it using an Anemo character.
Wind Orb 2: You can find the second wind orb toward the south of the island. There is a broken pillar lying in the water. You’ll need to switch to Kaeya to give yourself a platform to stand on. Then, switch to your Anemo character and use your ability to activate the orb.
Wind Orb 3: The final wind orb is on top of the pillar to the dial’s right. Climb to the top, and use your Anemo character to activate the final orb. Once that’s complete, you should have 3/3 clusters dispersed and be able to move on to the next step.
Scatter the deposit of wind
After a brief cutscene, you can drop down and head to the middle of the sundial area. There’s another deposit of wind in the center of it. Interact with the orb on your Anemo character to spawn an Eye of the Storm. Be careful because it might do a lot of damage, depending on your World Rank.
Search for the Eye of the Storm and defeat it
After defeating the Eye of the Storm, a wind tunnel will activate. Glide up on the wind vent, and fly through the rings to pursue the Eye of the Storm. It will lead you to the Thousand Winds Temple.
At the new location, you will see another sundial. A few more wind orbs are surrounding the dial, which you need to interact with again. As a quick reminder, make sure your time is set to 2:00 AM if you do not see the orbs. There’s a good chance your time is not between the proper hours anymore.
Activate all of the orbs, and the Eye of the Storm will spawn again. This time, some slimes will also join the battle, so get ready for a fight. After taking out the Eye, the quest is complete. Talk to Henry Morton to finish out the questline.
