Where to Find Fragrant Cedar Wood in Genshin Impact

Fragrant Cedar trees are one of the many tree types in Genshin Impact, and are described as “tall, lush, and dignified trees” according to the in-game Archive. You can collect Fragrant Cedar Wood from these trees, which is a valuable material needed to craft furnishings for your Serenitea Pot (Adventure Rank 35 requirement). This brief guide will help you become an expert at collecting Fragrant Cedar Wood and recognizing the Fragrant Cedar trees on your adventure. We will also provide you some maps on where to find Cedar Wood in Genshin Impact.

Defining Features of Fragrant Cedar Trees

Fragrant Cedar trees are some of the more difficult trees to spot, because they’re a rather basic-looking tree. That said, if you take note of some of the defining features we’ve put together in the list below, you might soon become an expert at differentiating Cedar trees from the other tree types.

• The easiest way to spot a Fragrant Cedar tree is by looking at the distinct layout of the  branches. Pay close attention to the pictures in this article to provide you with some examples of what we mean. Most often, Fragrant Cedar trees have a number of branches that split up (making the tree V-shaped) or they are at different angles and positions on the tree trunk. 
• Typically, these trees have skinnier tree trunks and thin branches. That said, there are quite a few massive versions of these trees, with a huge trunk and noticeably bigger than the other trees. When in doubt, look at the branch structures. 
• From some angles, the tree trunk often looks like it is curving or leaning sideways, almost like an extended S-shape.

Where to Find Fragrant Cedar Wood

In-game, Starfell Valley is the only listed location to find Fragrant Cedar trees. Thankfully, there are lots of places you can find this wood type, inside and outside of Starfell Valley. One of our favorite spots to farm Fragrant Cedar Wood is the area around Dawn Winery. You can see this area in the picture below, along with a number of locations listed to help you find even more Fragrant Cedar Wood.

Here are two more areas where you can find Fragrant Cedar Wood, according to the Teyvat Interactive Map on Mihoyo’s Hoyolab website. 

Additional Locations:

• West of the Brightcrown Canyon Teleport Waypoint
• South of Springvale (or North of the Teleport Waypoint near the Forsake Rift Domain)
• Whispering Woods is full of Fragrant Cedar Wood, although you might have to walk a bit to get there since there is not Teleport Waypoint directly near the woods

How to Collect Fragrant Cedar Wood in Genshin Impact

Collect a maximum of 3 pieces of wood from each Fragrant Cedar tree simply by attacking it with your weapon. For the quickest results, we suggest using a character with a Polearm. This weapon type attacks rapidly and has a wide attack range. 

Quick reminder that hitting multiple trees at once will only drop one piece of wood total (instead of one piece of wood from each of the trees hit). 

Maximize Your Inventory of Fragrant Cedar Wood

Trees in Genshin Impact respawn wood either after a period of time or when a certain number of wood pieces are collected (apparently, chopping a dozen trees will refresh all the trees you’ve previously hit). Regardless, based on the number of Fragrant Cedar trees accessible in the game, it is fairly easy to get a lot of wood quickly.

Co-Op Mode offers an additional way to obtain Fragrant Cedar Wood. You can actually collect wood in other player’s worlds. While this won’t exactly speed up the process of collecting wood, you can earn a few achievements by collecting a certain number of items from another player’s world (if you haven’t already).

Why Farm Fragrant Cedar Trees? 

There are only 4 furnishings that currently require the Fragrant Cedar Wood to craft. These furnishings mostly consist of large indoor shelves and a table. It’ll definitely be worth your time collecting some Fragrant Cedar Wood if you’re trying to build a study, office, or just like bookshelves!
