What are The Twelve

Eorzea is the main continent of Final Fantasy 14. The Twelve are the main pantheon of gods for Eorzea. The twelve main deities are considered benevolent and ruled over the continent until the arrival of the wandering tribes. Deciding they were impressed with the new settlers of the continent, the Twelve bestowed upon their blessings as the people of the country grew and flourished.

Every one of the Twelve commands a selection of the six elements o water, wind, ice, fire, lightning, and earth. Two deities share a single element. This is correlated through a month of the Eorzean calendar. Several of them are also patrons of Eorzean cities. People can also choose their own personal patron as well.
