Octopath Traveler 2 — How to unlock the Tough Warrior
To unlock the Tough Warrior, you must first complete Hikari’s story Chapters 1 to 5, including reaching the ending in Octopath Warrior 2. Once you have completed Hikari’s story, you must return to the Ku Kingdom. From here, you must travel south to the outskirts of the Ku Castle; as you follow the pathway, you will meet a Novice Warrior. Once you have unlocked the Tough Warrior, you can learn Crimson Slash, a Level 10 attack.
Train the Novice Warrior
After you interact with the Warrior, take all his Loot and scrutinize him (after all, this is the best way to build character). You will then face him in a dual, the Warrior will be at Level 1, so it will be easy to win the battle with one attack. After that, you can use Last Gasp to unleash an unforgiving slash that will knock him unconscious.
Once you have returned to the Main Screen, quickly change the Day to Night so he can’t respawn. You can now Loot him of his possessions and scrutinize him once more. After this, you will battle him three more times; after each battle, the Warrior’s title will change.
- Second Battle: Refined Warrior, Level 3
- Third Battle: Confident Warrior, Level 7
- Fourth Battle: Arrogant Warrior, Level 10

After each battle, change the Day to Night, Loot his possessions, and scrutinize him. In the final battle, when he becomes the Arrogant Warrior, he believes nothing, and no one can stop him. Of course, as King, you must then put him back in his place and show him what a true Warrior really is. Now, use your most powerful attack, the Mythical Bore, to release a powerful piercing blow onto your opponent. You will then unlock the Tough Warrior after you have snapped the Arrogance out of him in the Octopath Traveler 2.
