Some non-organic Pokémon are a bit confusing, biologically speaking, but most of them at least have vital organs like brains and hearts. Regirock, on the other hand, is an absolute anomaly. According to the PokéDex, Regirock is composed entirely of stones gathered from all over the world, with no organs or central nervous system to speak of. How to Get Regirock in Pokémon GO
With the beginning of the Season of Discovery in Pokémon GO, all three members of the Golem trio, including Registeel, Regice, and Regirock, are heading up five-star Raids until around the middle of the month. All three will be appearing in raids concurrently, but there will also be Raid Hour events on Wednesdays until June 17th, and as it so happens, Regirock is first up to bat on June 2nd. Beat it in a Raid, and you’ll get a chance to catch it.
Regirock is a pure Rock type, which means its resistances break down like this:
- Weak Against: Steel, Ground, Fighting, Water, Grass
- Resistant to: Normal, Poison, Flying, Fire

Quick Moves
- Rock Throw (Rock)
- Rock Smash (Fighting)
- Lock-On (Normal)
Main Moves
- Stone Edge (Rock)
- Focus Blast (Fighting)
- Zap Cannon (Electric)
The tricky thing about fighting Regirock is that it’s got weakness-exploiting moves for many of its most powerful counter-picks. For example, if we’re talking about pure DPS, one of your best options would be a strong Fighting type like Lucario or Conkeldurr, but as Fighting types are weak against Fighting moves themselves, if Regirock hits back with Rock Smash or Focus Blast, you could be in trouble.
A Steel type would be a much better choice, and as is often the case, one of the best possible choices would be Metagross with doubled up Steel moves. A Shadow Metagross may be even better for the DPS boost if you have one available.
A Grass type would also be a viable pick, as Grass types aren’t weak against anything in Regirock’s kit, and can exploit its weaknesses with Grass moves. Just make sure it’s a strong one like Mega Venusaur, as you’ll need a lot of muscle to pierce Regirock’s high defense.
