Pokemon GO: Johto Celebration Event Special Move Pokemon

Pokemon GO: Johto Celebration Event Special Move Pokemon

The Johto Celebration Event takes place this week in Pokemon GO. Several Johto region Pokemon appear more frequently in the wild, which will come in handy when Trainers are completing the Johto Collection Challenge for that Elite Collector Badge status. Additionally, there are several Pokemon you can evolve to gain access to their special Community Day moves. It’s a good opportunity to build some powerful Pokemon, so you may not want to miss out on this. Let’s take a look at the Johto Celebration Event special move Pokemon.

Johto Celebration Event Special Move Pokemon to Evolve

A few Pokemon have their special Community Day moves available in their evolved state during the Johto Celebration Event. Evolving or catching any of the following Pokemon will get you a special move:

  • Flaaffy -> Mareep -> Ampharos with Dragon Pulse
  • Bayleef -> Chikorita -> Meganium with Frenzy Plant
  • Cyndaquil -> Quilava -> Typhlosian with Blast Burn
  • Larvitar -> Pupitar -> Tyranitar with Smack Down

Several of these moves are the most powerful types for each Pokemon. Tyranitar and Meganium are two you probably want to focus on, as they are usually challenging to obtain.

Luckily, trainers have a high chance to catch a Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Chikorita in the wild during the Johto Celebration Event in Pokemon GO. You can also get a Chikorita and Cyndaquil encounter as a reward for completing the first set of event-exclusive Field Research tasks. Similarly, a Mareep encounter is a reward for completing the third research task.
