Dwebble is classified as the “Rock Inn” Pokémon. This is because, much like a real-life hermit crab, its shell functions as both armor and mobile home. Though, unlike hermit crabs, Dwebble’s shell isn’t actually, er, a shell. Dwebble searches for sturdy rocks, and when it finds one it likes, it secretes a mildly corrosive liquid to make a hole in the rock that it can crawl into. But enough with the biology lesson, I know what you’re here for: here’s how to catch Dwebble in Pokémon GO.
How to Catch Dwebble in Pokémon GO
At time of writing, there is no surefire way to find a Dwebble. It’s not a limited spawn; it’s readily available in places you can find Rock types, such as quarries and parking lots, as well as places you can find Bug types like forests and parks. But if you need one right this second, all you can really do is bum around these places and hope you get lucky. If you don’t mind waiting a few days, however, there is a great Dwebble-centric opportunity coming in the near future.
This Tuesday, June 1st, the first Spotlight Hour of June will be none other than Dwebble. As with all Spotlight Hours, for a single hour on Tuesday night, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time, Dwebbles will spawn in large quantities all over the place. You could probably just stay home and a bunch of them will fall right in your lap.
Additionally, during the Spotlight Hour, any Dwebbles you encounter will have a greater chance to be shiny. So if you were hoping to get a Dwebble before Memorial Day, well, that’s not statistically likely, but if you don’t mind waiting until the day after, then you’ll be swimming in Dwebbles.
