How to Get Whack-a-Box Mini-Game High Score in FF7 Remake

You might want to aim for a high score in the Whack-a-Box mini-game to get the trophy. There are trophies available for pretty much every mini-game you encounter in the game.

Whack-a-Box Mini-Game Normal Mode

In Normal Mode, you need 30,000 points or more to earn the trophy. You will probably have no issues accomplishing this. You will be awarded a Spectral Cogwheel for earning the high score in 1:30. The strategy is to use your abilities wisely. Attack the 50 and 100 point boxes to fill your ATB, and then use your abilities on the 1,500 point box. Regular attacks will not phase the 1,500 point box so don’t bother.

  • 30,000 Points – Spectral Cogwheel
  • 20,000 Points – Crescent Moon Charm
  • 10,000 Points – Elixir

Whack-a-Box Mini-Game Hard Mode

Hard Mode can be tricky unless you have the right strategy. Fill your ATB by attacking the smaller boxes, and try using Infinity’s End on the 1,500 boxes. Using that ability instantly destroys one of the big boxes. Try taking out two at once as well to efficiently get through this challenge.

You’ll also find boxes that give you extra time and you obviously want to use those wisely. Don’t spend much time on the 50 point boxes unless it’s to fill your ATB. Focus mainly on the 100 and 1,500 point boxes here. The rewards for Hard Mode are:

  • 30,000 – Transference Module
  • 20,000 – Crescent Moon Charm
  • 10,000 – Elixir
