It’s truly impressive how much mileage Square-Enix has derived from Final Fantasy XI Online. It initially released back in 2002 — over twenty years ago. And, here we are at the end of 2022, and updates are still being made available! Players of the antediluvian MMORPG have much to look forward to in the November version update for Final Fantasy XI Online. Here’s everything — both in-game and not — coming to the world of Vana’diel.
All Features and New Content in Update
I implied above that there was more than just in-game content, and that’s because there is. Let’s start with what’s now available in the game. According to a press release sent by Square-Enix, we can say that there is a veritable host of new story and battle content. In the most recent chapter of “The Voracious Resurgence,” players have to gather at Movalpolos to overcome a strange, new threat.
In addition to the new story chapter, there’s a new Ambuscade battle update, and a new series of trials by Lion. And then, from November 10 until December 2, a points exchange system will be available. Through this exchange, players can nab a whole slew of in-game rewards for their collected points. They can even acquire a new mount through this new system.

In terms of IRL-content, there’s a new lineup of physical products fans can obtain via Square-Enix’s store. There are new plushes, jackets, and other attire that die-hard Final Fantasy XI Online fans will appreciate.
It would seem there’s never been a better time to get involved in the epic adventure that is Final Fantasy XI Online! It is — technically — available for the PS2, Xbox 360, and PC. But, the PC version is the only one with servers still available. So, if you’re interested, you’d better have a PC that can run it!
