Fragile Bone Shards drop from Geovishap Hatchlings. These are the hedgehog looking stone monsters you encounter in the world. They tend to hang out around areas that are node heavy, and specific areas like Tianqiu Valley. If you haven’t already checked it out, refer to our best mining spots in Genshin Impact guide. Most of the locations listed there have some Geovishap Hatchlings.

Now for the farm spots where you can find these mobs. They seem to be most abundant in Tianqiu Valley, which is on the southwest portion of Teyvat. Teleport to the waypoint just west of the Pyro Regisvine in Liyue. You should immediately see two Geovishap Hatchlings, unless you killed them recently.

Next, head south and up into the mountains east of the other nearby waypoint. Upon the cliffs, you can find a pack of three Geovishap Hatchlings. Defeat them all, and you should get a few Fragile Bone Shards per kill.

Other good locations to find Geovishap Hatchlings are at Mt. Aozang, and Guyun Stone Forest. Fragile Bone Shards are a requirement in a few weapon ascensions, including the Prototype Animus. To get this weapon to the second ascension tier, you will need several of these, along with some other materials.

That’s where to get Fragile Bone Shards in Genshin Impact. I hope this guide helps you out in your journey!
