Survival is key in Escape from Tarkov as you’ll lose everything upon death. To stay alive, you’ll need items like weapons and medicine. These can be obtained by looting enemies or scavenging in the map. In comes the flare gun, which offers a unique way to get these, and more. It can shoot a flare to signal a supply drop of various items to assist you on your journey. The only issue is that it’s rare, so finding it may be an issue unless you know how.
Where To Find the Flare Pistol in Escape from Tarkov
You may find get lucky finding one when looting a body during a raid. Or by coming across a random weapon crate that contains it. But a surefire way to obtain one is by bartering. Bartering lets you trade what a person is looking for, say, a graphics card and ram for a set item like a helmet.

Bartering with Jaegar will net you the flare gun, as long as you have the requested items. It doesn’t come cheap, however. You’ll need 5 reactive white flare cartridges, 2 red ones, and 1 of green and yellow. Before you can even get there, you’ll need to raise his loyalty level to 3 to gain access to the barter item. If you don’t have him yet, Jaegor can be unlocked by completing the Mechanic’s quest “introduction”.
