You know which Gen 2 legendary Pokémon I always thought got a raw deal? Raikou. Of the three Legendary Beasts, he always gets shafted in favor of the other two. Suicune played a recurring role in the anime, Entei got his own entire movie, and Raikou gets nothing. What the heck, guys? Treat your legendaries with equal love. If you think there should be some more equality between legendaries, then you should be looking forward to Pokémon GO’s Johto Legendary Raids. Of course, that begs the obvious question, when are Pokémon GO’s Johto Legendary Raids?
As part of the celebrations leading up to the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, Niantic has based the last few events around revisiting all of the generations that came after gen 1. We’ve gone through all of them already (or at least all of the gens that currently have representation in Pokémon GO) except for one: gen 2, Johto. So, before the Kanto Tour kicks of in earnest, the remainder of January and a bit of February will be dedicated to gen 2 Pokémon with increased spawn rates, evolutions that can learn special attacks, collection challenges, and of course, special raids.
When are Pokémon GO’s Johto Legendary Raids?
In addition to your bread and butter one-to-four-star raids, though, five-star raids will feature special guests for the duration of the event: the three Legendary Beasts. Entei, Suicune, and Raikou will headline five-star raids for set time periods while the event is running. The schedule breaks down like this:
- Entei will be appearing in five-stars from Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Raikou will be appearing in five-star raids from Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Suicune will be appearing in five-star raids from Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Here’s a full list of Raid Bosses, starting at 11 AM Local Time.
