What’s the Strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO?

A prevailing message of both the Pokémon games and anime is that Pokémon don’t have a rigidly defined power scale; they can all be the strongest as long as you’re a good trainer to them. That’s how Ash basically conquered the world with a Pikachu; that thing’s level 100. Pokémon GO, though, keeps things a little simpler, which makes it easier to determine which ones have the best stats. So, what’s the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO?

Now, as the anime taught us, any Pokémon can technically be strong with the right training and type advantages. There isn’t necessarily a single “best” Pokémon so much as there are Pokémon that are exemplary in each of the game’s stats. To that end, let’s discuss which Pokémon showcase the absolute height of basic stats.

What’s the Strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO?

Here are the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO:

  • Deoxys (Attack)
  • Shuckle (Defense)
  • Blissey (Stamina)
  • Blissey (Max HP)
  • Slaking (Max CP)

The Pokémon in Pokémon GO each have five stats:

  1. Max CP: “Combat points,” or the general combat potential of a Pokémon. While CP is an aggregate of other stats, the maximum CP determines how high those stats can actually go.
  2. Max HP: “Health points,” or health.
  3. Attack: How much damage a Pokémon’s attacks do.
  4. Defense: How much a Pokémon can mitigate damage received.
  5. Stamina: How quickly a Pokémon can use more powerful moves.

With all that squared away, let’s start with the basic stats.

Attack

Our lead attacker is the legendary Pokémon Deoxys, with an attack of 345. Our runner-up is Mewtwo, with an even 300.

Defense

The iron shell of defense is Shuckle, with a defense of 396. Our runner-up is the legendary Lugia, with 310.

Stamina

The Pokémon that just keeps on going is Blissey with a stamina of 496, with the runner-up being its own pre-evolution, Chansey, with 487.

Max HP

The heartiest Pokémon are, once again, Blissey and Chansey, with max healths of 399 and 392.

Finally, let’s get the max CP. Remember, a Pokémon with high max CP may not have the highest stats right away, but they’ve got the most room to grow.

Max CP

The Pokémon with the greatest possible potential is Slaking, with a mighty max CP of 4,431. For our runner-up, Mewtwo returns with a max CP of 4,178.
