Togetic Weaknesses and Raid Counters in Pokemon GO

Here's a list of the best Togetic counters in Pokemon GO so you can take advantage of those natural weaknesses.

The members of Togepi’s evolutionary line, including Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss are considered envoys of good fortune and happy days. If you were just walking down the street and a Togetic flapped up to you and hugged your leg, you know you’re about to have a really good day. Heck, even if you didn’t, the thing’s cute as all get out, so that’s still pretty nice. If you’d like to catch one of your own, then here are Togetic’s weaknesses and Raid counters in Pokemon GO.

Togetic Weaknesses

Togetic is a Fairy/Flying type Pokemon, which means it has a roughly equal number of weaknesses and resistances, though the majority of those resistances are especially potent ones.

  • Resistant to: Grass, Dark
  • Double-Resistant to: Fighting, Ground, Bug, Dragon
  • Weak against: Poison, Rock, Steel, Electric, Ice

For a mid-stage evolution, Togetic has roughly average stats, with slightly above-average defensive capabilities. Togetic has a base attack of 139, a base defense of 181, and a base stamina of 146. It does, however, have a lot of room to grow, with a max Raid CP of 976, 1,220 boosted, so that defense could become more of a concern depending on how high-level the Togetic you encounter is.

Togetic Moves

Meanwhile, these are the moves available in Togetic’s kit:

Quick Moves

  • Extrasensory (Psychic)
  • Hidden Power (Normal)
  • Zen Headbutt (Psychic, event only)
  • Steel Wing (Steel, event only)

Main Moves

  • Aerial Ace (Flying)
  • Ancient Power (Rock)
  • Dazzling Gleam (Fairy)

Togetic Counters

Togetic’s attack stats aren’t that high, even at higher CP levels, so your more pressing concern should be penetrating its defenses. Considering its particular weakness makeup, you’ve got two options: an all-out DPS-focused attacking strategy with a bit of risk, or a safer, more balanced strategy that may take a little longer but is more likely to succeed without incident.

List of Togetic Counters

  • Metagross: Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash
  • Attack Forme Deoxys: Zen Headbutt/Zap Cannon
  • Thundurus Therian: Volt Switch/Thunderbolt
  • Rampardos: Smack Down/Rock Slide
  • Zekrom: Charge Beam/Wild Charge
  • Galarian Darmanitan: Ice Fang/Avalanche
  • Raikou: Volt Switch/Wild Charge
  • Rhyperior: Smack Down/Rock Wrecker
  • Dialga: Metal Claw/Iron Head

If you wanna go scorched Earth on this, then the ‘mon of the hour is Galarian Zen Darmanitan. Galarian Zen Darmanitan’s powerful Ice moves like Ice Fang and Avalanche, combined with a base attack that’s nearly double Togetic’s base attack, almost guarantees that it can outpace Togetic in a straight DPS race. The only possible cause for concern is Galarian Zen Darmanitan’s weakness to Rock moves like Ancient Power.

If you want to take the balanced approach, Metagross will keep you safe, guaranteed. Its Steel/Psychic typing gives it resistance to everything in Togetic’s kit, and while its attack isn’t as high as Galarian Zen Darmanitan’s, it’s still plenty strong enough to hold its own against a mid-stage Pokemon like Togetic and then some.

If you’re in a Legendary mood, Attack Forme Deoxys will make short work of a Togetic. Its pure Psychic typing gives it similar resistances to Metagross, and while its defense is lacking, it boasts one of the highest base attack stats in the game. Combined with Poison Jab and Zap Cannon, it would be genuinely surprising if Togetic could withstand its attacks.
