Pokémon Unite – Crustle build, items, and moves

Maybe I’m projecting here, but I’ve thought Crustle looks rather… put upon. Even if its whole shtick is living inside a giant slab of solid stone and its legs are strong enough for that, it just doesn’t look like it lives a very comfortable life. Well, if it has to haul that big ol’ rock everywhere, you might as well put that muscle to work. Here’s the best Crustle build in Pokémon UNITE.

Dwebble and Crustle are classified as Defenders, particularly of Novice-level difficulty. In spite of that, though, they’re surprisingly good at being self-sufficient and going on the offensive. Dwebble and Crustle work best as a sort of roving mercenary service, patrolling the field and aiding any allies in need. To best emphasize that, you gotta build up their attacking capabilities while selectively trimming their defensive capabilities.

Best Crustle Build in Pokémon UNITE

Here is the best Crustle build in Pokémon UNITE:

  • Battle Items: Potion or Eject Button
  • Held Items: Leftovers, Assault Vest, Float Stone
  • Moves: Shell Smash, X-Scissor

Items

For items, you want Leftovers, Assault Vest, and Float Stone. The regenerating shield from the Assault Vest allows Crustle to get back up to snuff in between skirmishes. while the Float Stone provides enough of a boost in speed to ensure it gets where it needs to be in a prompt fashion.

For battle items, bring either a Potion or an Eject Button, depending on how comfortable you are regularly skirting the edge of a KO.

Moves

For moves, Dwebble starts with Rock Slide and learns Fury Cutter at level 3. At level 4, when you evolve into Crustle, swap Rock Slade out for Shell Smash. When you use Shell Smash, Crustle temporarily sacrifices some of its defense and special defense for an attack and special attack buff, plus a speed boost. Shell Smash is handy at the start of an encounter when you’ve got more health to burn and can afford to get a little scuffed up in exchange for mowing down opponents.

At level 6, replace Fury Cutter with X-Scissor. X-Scissor will be your bread-and-butter special, smashing foes with multiple hits and stunning them if they hit a solid object. X-Scissor works great with the speed boost from Shell Smash, as you can run up to foes at higher speed and knock them away.

At level 9, Crustle gets its Unite Move, Rubble Rouser, which creates a large AoE damage and stun zone. If anyone gets any wise ideas about attacking you while Rubble Rouser is active, they’ll receive a portion of their damage back.

Crustle is a deceptively sneaky Pokémon, appearing from the jungle to swiftly mow down foes before disappearing to provide help elsewhere.
