How to Complete the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

Valentine’s Day isn’t until next week, but all of the chocolate has already been on store shelves since February started, so what the heck, let’s get into it early. If you play Pokemon GO, you’ve already got a pretty good excuse to get a head-start, as the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event just started this morning, and will last until Monday night. To properly ring in this lovely holiday, here’s how to complete the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge.

For the duration of the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event, there is a pair of Collection Challenges running alongside the usual Field Research Tasks and boosted Pokemon spawns. Catching all of the Pokemon listed in these challenges will give you some tangible rewards, as well as a guaranteed encounter with a particular Pokemon. Since love and relationship-themed Pokemon have their spawns boosted right now, catching the ones required for the Challenge shouldn’t be too difficult, provided you know what you’re looking for.

How to Complete the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

To complete the first Collection Challenge, you’ll need to catch least one of all of the following Pokemon:

• Luvdisc
• Woobat
• Plusle
• Volbeat

Successfully completing this challenge will reward you with 2,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust, and a guaranteed encounter with a male Frillish (the blue one).

On the other hand, to complete the second Collection Challenge, you’ll need to catch at least one of all of the following Pokemon:

• Luvdisc
• Furfrou
• Minun
• Illumise

Completing this challenge will also reward you with 2,000 XP and 2,000 Stardust, as well as a guaranteed female Frillish encounter (the pink one).

These Challenges aren’t sequential, so you can feel free to catch Pokemon for either one in whatever order you please. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to have one or two Frillish; evolving them into Jellicent would give you quite the competitive play edge.
