Call me a party pooper, but isn’t making Stufful the star of a Pokemon GO event kind of a bad idea? Those things absolutely loathe being touched by strangers, so approaching one is a great way to get your kneecaps busted. Well, even if you don’t go hunting for Stuffuls, there’s still plenty of other fun stuff to do during an event, and especially a Community Day. Here’s what you need to know about the Pokemon GO Stufful Community Day, including the release date and rewards.
Pokemon GO Stufful Community Day Release Date and Rewards
This coming Saturday, April 23rd, will see the newest Community Day event with Stufful as the star. This event will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in your local time zone, and while it’s running, there’ll be major item boosts in effect, as well as some special research.

As the star of the event, Stufful will, of course, be appearing in much greater numbers in the wild for the event’s duration. And because I know you were wondering, yes, Stufful’s shiny variant is available in Pokemon GO. Additionally, any Stufful you evolve into Bewear while the event is running will learn the special Fighting type Main move Drain Punch. You need 400 Candy for that evolution, so make sure to catch lots of Stufful!
While the event is running, numerous item and gameplay bonuses will be in effect, making it a great time for farming lots of resources. Here are all the bonuses that will be in effect:
- Triple Catch XP
- Double Catch Candy
- Double chance to receive Stufful Candy XL when catching a Stufful
- Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last three hours
- One extra special trade can be made during the event
- Trades during the event will require 50% less Stardust
- Smeargle may appear in snapshots taken during the event
If you have some friends to play Pokemon GO with, get them all together, because there will be a group play bonus running during the event. If all of you can catch enough Pokemon while in the proximity of a PokeStop with an active Lure Module, then the tripled Catch XP bonus will increase to quadruple Catch XP for 30 minutes. Note that this boost only applies to Pokemon caught within the Lure Module’s proximity.
If you don’t mind paying a little extra, there will be a special Research Story available for purchase during the event titled Strong Stuff. You can pick it up from the store for $1.00 USD. Additionally, for 850 PokéCoins, you can pick up the Community Day Box, which contains 15 Ultra Balls, 15 Pinap Berries, 1 Elite Fast TM, and 1 Remote Raid Pass. While you’re in the store, don’t forget to grab a free pack of 30 Ultra Balls!
