Is Shiny Oddish in Pokemon GO?

As it so happens, yes, Oddish’s shiny variant is available in Pokemon GO! Shiny Oddish was added to the game way back in 2019 during the Safari Zone event in New Taipei City. Unlike some shinies, shiny Oddish is pretty visually distinct from its usual form, with a body in a bright, leafy green instead of its usual dark blue, and leaves an even brighter yellow-green than their usual shade. Of course, the presence of Oddish’s shiny forms also extends to its evolved forms, Gloom, Vileplume, and Bellossom. 

So how do you go about getting a shiny Oddish? Well, you’re in luck, because this week, on Tuesday, April 19, Oddish will be the star of the week’s Spotlight Hour. As usual, the Spotlight Hour will run from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday night in your local time zone.

While the Spotlight Hour is running, spawns of Oddish all over the world will be boosted exponentially. The precise odds of finding a shiny one will be the same as they usually are, but the sheer number of Oddishes that will be appearing in rapid succession will make it much easier to screen a lot of them at once. Even if you’re not quite lucky enough to find a shiny Oddish, you should still try to catch as many as you can, as all catch Stardust is doubled for the duration of the Spotlight Hour.
