Pokemon GO Koffing Spotlight Hour: Start Time and Details

You know, if someone told me twenty-plus years ago that I would one day find the idea of a living whoopie cushion that poots poison gas cute, I’d call them insane. But I guess that’s what Pokemon does to us, making our standards for cute things all weird. Koffing should not be a cute Pokemon, but by gum, that little toothy grin and strangely deep voice puts a smile on my face every time. If you’d like a Koffing of your own (or several), then you’ll have a chance to get one tomorrow. Here’s the start time and details on Koffing’s Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Koffing Spotlight Hour Start Time

Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 14th, is the third weekly Spotlight Hour event of February, and the star of the show this time around is none other than Koffing. As with all Spotlight Hours, this event will run from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in your local time zone.

During this time, Koffings will be popping up all over the place in the wild, and every single successful catch will yield double catch XP. That doubling applies to any Pokemon you catch, by the way, not just Koffing.

With all the Koffings popping up, you’re probably wondering whether or not there’s a chance for them to be shiny. Well, good news: Koffing’s shiny variant, which is a bit of a pale blue-green color compared to its usual purple, is available in the Pokemon GO Pokedex, and there is definitely a chance for it to appear during the Spotlight Hour. Of course, even with the spawn boost, the odds are still a bit low, but you can fudge them in your favor by activating Incense and Lure Modules.

Incidentally, if you catch a Koffing you end up liking, you can evolve it into a Weezing with 50 Koffing Candy. Make sure to catch as many Koffing as you can during the Spotlight Hour so you can get your fill of Candy!
