How to Complete the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

Here are the Pokemon you’ll need to capture for the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge:

  • Alomomola
  • Espeon
  • Illumise
  • Latias
  • Latios
  • Luvdisc
  • Minun
  • Nidoran ♀
  • Nidoran ♂
  • Plusle
  • Umbreon
  • Volbeat

Luckily, you can find nearly all of these Pokemon in the wild, but it remains the most comprehensive collection challenge to date. A few of the Pokemon are evolutions, while others you can only find as a reward for specific research tasks.

Rewards for completing this challenge are 3 Silver Pinap Berries, 3 Rocket Radars, and 2 Charged TMs.

How to get Espeon and Umbreon for Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

Espeon and Umbreon, for instance, require you to evolve your Eevees with specific names. You can check out our Pokemon GO Eevee evolution names guide for some more details. In short, though, to get Espeon, you can name your Eevee Sakura before evolving it. For Umbreon, you can call it Tamao.

You can only do the name trick for Eevee once per type, so there are other ways to complete this if you can’t use this method. Another way to get Espeon and Umbreon from Gen 2 Eevees are to make an Eevee your buddy and walk 10 km with them. Evolve your Eevee during nighttime for Umbreon or daytime for Espeon.

How to get Latias and Latios for Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

Two more Pokemon you’ll need to capture are Latias and Latios. These two Legendary Pokemon are available in five-star raids, so make sure you have a Raid Pass or two available. We recommend playing with some friends to trounce them.

How to get Alomomola for Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge

One final Pokemon you’ll need is Alomomola, a field research exclusive during this event. The research tasks to complete during this event are to Win 2 Raids and Catch 20 Luvdisc. Completing these will both grant Alomomola encounters.
