Here’s an odd fact: a Slowpoke’s tail, which frequently falls off while it’s fishing, is considered a delicacy. Even stranger, due to increased consumption of particular plant seeds, a Galarian Slowpoke’s tail has a notably spicy flavor. Of course, the obvious question is “spicy compared to what,” but let’s put that aside for the moment and just focus on beating one in a fight. Here’s a guide for Galarian Slowpoke raids in Pokémon GO.
Galarian Slowpoke, much like regular Slowpoke, is a pure Psychic type Pokémon, which means it has the following resistances:
- Weak against: Bug, Dark, Ghost
- Resistant to: Fighting, Psychic
Along with those resistances, Galarian Slowpoke has the following moves in its kit:
Quick Moves
- Confusion (Psychic)
- Iron Tail (Steel)
Main Moves
- Surf (Water)
- Psychic (Psychic)
- Psyshock (Psychic)
Pokémon GO Galarian Slowpoke Raid Guide
Galarian Slowpoke isn’t a particularly tough customer, with neither Attack nor Defense to write home about. As long as you can maintain type superiority over it, it should be a pretty open and shut fight.
Mega Evolved Pokémon can absolutely tear through Galarian Slowpoke, with the best choices being Mega Gengar and Mega Houndoom, doubling up on Ghost and Dark moves, respectively. Mega Houndoom is a slightly risky choice, due to its Dark/Fire typing, but it’s hearty enough that Surf won’t knock it out immediately. If Legendaries are available, Darkrai and Yveltal are both quality picks, as both can double up on Dark moves and both have particularly nasty damage potential.
If the heavy hitters aren’t available, there are plenty of serviceable Dark types, such as Weaville, Hydreigon, and Bisharp. An attack-focused Ghost type like Chandelure will get the job done as well.
