According to older PokéDex entries, the traditional variety of Farfetch’d is an endangered species. Apparently, they’re really tasty, so they’ve been hunted to a dangerous extent. In the Galar region, though, Farfetch’d are much heartier, developing an almost warrior-like mentality and using their larger leek stalks to defend themselves from predators. Since they’re so much tougher, you don’t have to feel bad about fighting them! Here are the raid counters for Galarian Farfetch’d in Pokémon GO.
Galarian Farfetch’d, as opposed to its Normal-type spin-off, is a pure Fighting-type Pokémon, which means its resistances break down like this:
- Weak Against: Fairy, Flying, Psychic
- Resistant to: Bug, Dark, Rock
Meanwhile, these are the moves Galarian Farfetch’d has in its repertoire:
Quick Moves
- Fury Cutter (Bug)
- Rock Smash (Fighting)
Main Moves
- Brave Bird (Flying)
- Leaf Blade (Grass)
- Brick Break (Fighting)
Pokémon GO Galarian Farfetch’d Raid Counters
Normally, I would suggest a Psychic-type to go up against a pure Fighting type like Galarian Farfetch’d, and if you happen to have an especially strong one on hand like Mewtwo, that should work fine. However, as Psychic types are weak against Bug moves, Fury Cutter could pose some problems. Therefore, if you want to play it safe, a Flying or Fairy type would be better.
To make the fastest work of Galarian Farfetch’d, Mega Pidgeot is one of the top contenders. Its brutal DPS is second only to Mewtwo, and it’s naturally resistant to everything in Galarian Farfetch’d’s kit. If Legendaries are on the table, Moltres or Ho-Oh are both excellent picks, Moltres moreso since it can double up on Flying moves. If you want a little type superiority, try Togekiss. As a Fairy/Flying type, it’s uniquely poised to counter Galarian Farfetch’d’s particular mix-up.
