Octopath Traveler 2 is an immersive game revolving around eight main stories, with a character that goes with each of them. It is an RPG title that is the sequel to Octopath Traveler (obviously) and is all about exploring the game’s world with the characters provided. Its turn-based combat system is a fresh take on the genre and helps to immerse players in its many relaxed but high-stakes battles. There is a weakness system involved similar to that of Pokémon, where enemies have weaknesses related to different weapons and elements.
There are plenty of side missions and quests to complete in Octopath Traveler 2, however, the main purpose of the game is to complete all of your characters’ storylines, as we mentioned above. You are able to explore many different dungeons and collect items as you upgrade the skills of your characters. In this guide, we cover how to unlock the post-game dungeon in Octopath Traveler 2, which holds the game’s last boss, Galdera.

How Do You Get to the Final Secret Boss in Octopath Traveler 2?
There are a few steps that you will need to take before you can actually fight Galdera, the final boss in the game. A lot of these are fairly straightforward, however, as this is the last boss in Octopath Traveler 2 they will require a lot of effort in order to be completed. Without further ado, here is a list of everything you’ll need to do in order to unlock the post-game dungeon and take on Galdera.
Complete the Main Storylines
Firstly, you will need to have finished all eight of the characters’ storylines to their fullest extent. This means getting 100% completion in them in order to proceed to the next step in unlocking the post-game dungeon in Octopath Traveler 2. Take your time and enjoy playing the game as you work towards your objective!
Finish the Side Stories
There are a few side-quests you need to complete before the gates of Netherworld will open and allow you to fight Galdera. Here is the list of quests you need to complete:
- The Traveler’s Bag (you need this quest completed to unlock From the Far Reaches of Hell)
- Procuring Peculiar Tomes
- From the Far Reaches of Hell
When you complete these side stories you will be able to fight Galdera on the ??? isle.
How to Kill Galdera in the Netherworld
Fighting Galdera won’t be easy and even though you can unlock this event early, we advise that you have all your characters at level 60-70 before you enter. If you try killing this boss on lower levels you will probably get obliterated pretty fast.
The fight will be separated into two parts. When you enter the gates of the Netherworld you will be asked to split your groups into two parties. Make sure both your primary and secondary parties are of equal strength and that you don’t put all the most powerful characters in one while placing all the weakest members in the other.
You will first fight the Galdera on the lower level and as soon as you dash out enough damage the game will take you to the upper level where you will fight a stronger Galdera. The latter will be a much bigger challenge so we advise that you first kill its three body parts and then proceed to attack its body. Use armor debuff from your Merchant on both occasions and try to buff up your DPS heroes as much as you can at the same time.
