Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 is here, and the ultimate skin is Aquaman. Like Deadpool’s skin in Season 2, players will need to complete various challenges around the map every week to unlock the Aquaman skin. Aquaman challenges unlock after a certain amount of time, so you can only complete the challenges as they become available. After getting the Aquaman skin, players can also get the Arthur Curry style.
Alongside Aquaman, we also have Jules and Kit skins this season. These other skins unlock as rewards through Battle Pass progression. Here’s everything you need to know to unlock Aquaman this season, along with a preview of what he looks like with and without his shirt.

How to unlock Aquaman through challenges in Fortnite
To unlock the Aquaman skin in Fortnite, players need to have the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Battle Pass. Without the pass, you will not receive many of this season’s rewards, including the Aquaman skin.
Aquaman Challenges
With the Battle Pass activated, a series of special challenges will unlock every week. The challenges are all time-gated, meaning they unlock after a certain amount of time, just like the Deadpool Challenges. Here are the Aquaman Challenges so far for Fortnite Season 3:
- Use a Whirlpool at The Fortilla Location
- Use a Fishing Pole to Ride Behind a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands
- Catch different types of fish in a single match
- Complete the swimming Time Trial at Dirty Docks
- Claim your Trident at Coral Cove
Use a Whirlpool at The Fortilla
Completing this challenge unlocks the King of the Beach loading screen. It’s easy enough to complete. All you need to do is head over to the Fortilla location on the map. It’s the most southwest point of interest on the map, and the whirlpool can be seen while you’re flying in. Land on, or swim into, the whirlpool and it will launch you up in the air.
Use a Fishing Pole to Ride Behind a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands
The first step is to find a fishing rod. Land at Sweaty Sands and start searching the houses. On the north side dock, you can find a barrel with fishing rods in it. Walk over to them, interact with the barrel, and pick up the fishing pole. Refer to the image below for the exact location at Sweaty Sands.
After that, grab a boat and ride around the edges of Sweaty Sands looking for a shark. Cast your line into the water near a shark, and he’ll take a bite and take you for a ride. Completing this challenge unlocks a new Aquaman spray.
Aquaman Skin and Cosmetics
Below you can see a preview of the Fortnite Aquaman skin on the left and the Arthur Curry variant on the right. Other unlockable cosmetics include the Aquaman’s Trident harvesting tool and the Supreme Shell back bling.
Players will need to wait for all Fortnite Aquaman Challenges to unlock to acquire the skin, the Arthur Curry Variant, and the two additional cosmetics. At this point in the season, nobody can obtain the skin.
Unlocking Aquaman Arthur Curry in Fortnite
After completing all of the challenges and unlocking the skin, you can get the Arthur Curry variant. In this skin, Aquaman is not wearing a shirt. To unlock the Aquaman Arthur Curry skin in Fortnite, you will have to complete a follow-up challenge.
- Dive over the waterfall at Gorgeous Gorge while wearing the Aquaman outfit
To do this, equip the Aquaman skin and go to the Gorgeous Gorge location between Lazy Lake and The Authority. Land at the high point near the top of the waterfall, so you don’t risk dying trying to get up there. Now, all you need to do is dive off the top and Arthur Curry is yours.
