How to Start Trials of the Dragon King Expansion in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Bahamut would like to have a chat.

Generally speaking, when a gigantic, all-powerful creature asks for your attention, you’re kind of obligated to oblige it. That goes double, possibly triple, for when Bahamut, the Dragon King, wants it. Don’t go keeping him waiting now unless you want to get a faceful of Megaflare. Here’s how to start the Trials of the Dragon King expansion in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

How to Start Trials of the Dragon King Expansion

Before you can start the Trials of the Dragon King expansion in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, you need to have completed the game’s main story at least once. This is because the content included in the Dragon King expansion is of a much higher difficulty than the base game, so you’ll need to have beaten the game at least once to even be strong enough for it. The expansion also features strong equipment, which it couldn’t very well give you if you’re just starting the game out.

Once you’ve beaten the game at least once, you can continue the story into new main and side missions, specifically on the special Bahamut difficulty setting that’s added with the Trials of the Dragon King expansion. When you start the game like this, you’ll have access to the special menu tabs that allow you to converse with Bahamut, play his special trials, and exchange the treasure he rewards you with for high-level items and equipment.

The Conversations with Bahamut tab, in particular, will offer you cutscenes that set the stage of the expansion’s story, as well as progress it further as you complete Bahamut’s Trials. Whenever you complete some trials, make sure to check this menu for a new conversation, as having these chats will add more main missions and trials for you to complete.
