How to Evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon GO

How to Evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon GO

Swirlix and Slurpuff are both essential sweets brought to life as Pokémon, with bodies the consistency of cotton candy and meringue, respectively. Apparently, their primary practical purposes, according to the PokéDex, are aiding pastry chefs with their acute senses of taste and smell. This tied into Swirlix’s means of evolution in the mainline games, wherein it needed to be holding a particular pastry called a Whipped Dream. Pokémon GO, however, doesn’t have any candy. It does have treats, though. Here’s how to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon GO.

With the advent of the Luminous Legends X event in Pokémon GO, Swirlix, Spritzee, Goomy, and their respective evolutionary lines have all been added to the game. With Fairy and Dragon-type spawns boosted for the duration of the event, it’s pretty easy to find Swirlixes in bulk right now, which is good, because the first thing you’ll need to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff is 50 Swirlix candy. You can get the candy you need by catching more Swirlixes, using berries at a Gym, or walking around with a Swirlix as your buddy. That’s only the first step, however.

Remember how I said you can get candy by walking with Swirlix as your buddy? Well, you’re gonna want to do that anyway, because step two of the evolution process is making Swirlix your buddy and feeding it at least 25 treats. Now, technically, you can feed any buddy the treats, but if you’re trying to get Swirlix candy anyway, it might as well be Swirlix. Remember, though, a buddy can only eat up to three treats at a time before they need to digest, so you might need to take a few walks with a few different Pokémon as your buddy to make this process as quick as possible.

Once you’ve got the 50 candies and have fed your buddy 25 treats, you’re free to evolve your Swirlix into Slurpuff from its page.
