First, you need to be at least Adventure Rank 20 to participate in this event. To get started, visit Timaeus in Mondstadt and speak with him. He’s over at the Alchemy area where you can craft materials. You will receive the quest One Giant Step For Alchemy, which leads you to the Thousand Winds Temple on the eastern side of the map.

Teleport to the waypoint over there and make your way to the Thousand Winds Temple. You will find Timaeus over at the temple. Speak with him and activate the Elemental Crucible. A ruin guard will spawn, and you’ll need to take him out. Don’t worry, because he’s not that challenging. After defeating the mob, a chest will spawn, and you will now have the ability to activate the Elemental Crucible and participate in the event.

Interacting with the Elemental Crucible brings up a screen to enter into matchmaking. Doing this finds three other players to group you with so you can complete the event in a group of four. Ensure you have the proper character in the first slot of your party because that’s the one that will go to the event. Now for how the actual event works.

How does the Elemental Crucible Event work?

Waves of enemies spawn, and you’ll need to defeat them and collect the Elemental Clots they drop. Deposit all of the Clots into the Elemental Crucible in the center. You can see a progress bar at the top of your screen. Once that bar fills up, the event is complete. Take them out as fast as you can. You will see Clots of different elements drop from the mobs. Additionally, the Crucible inoculates you with a random elemental buff.

Make sure to collect only Clots of the same element. If you have two Pyro Clots, for instance, and you pick up a Cryo Clot, your pyro Clots will disappear, leaving you with a single Cryo Clot. For that reason, we recommend banking your Clots as often as possible at the Crucible. It may be an excellent decision to designate one team member to run around and collect all the Clots while others take out the mobs. The runner might want to use a stamina food buff, to not run out of stamina as often.

Claiming the rewards from the event costs 40 Resin, which may be a big turnoff for many players. Rewards include mostly Hero’s Wit and Adventurer’s Experience. Keep in mind that you do not need to claim the rewards to complete the challenges. We recommend holding on to your Resin, as it’s more efficient to spend it on minibosses and domains.

Alchemy Handbook

Upon completing the event, you can open up your Alchemy Handbook by clicking on the compass icon on the screen’s top right. You can get a variety of rewards, including Primogems, Fragments, Adventure EXP, and more. You’ll need to complete the event multiple times to finish all of the challenges. One of the more difficult challenges is to “Reach Elemental Energy Overflowing within three minutes of starting Elemental Crucible.” A caveat is that your World Level must be the same as the hosts, so double-check that when you start. All other challenges should complete on their own by doing the event a few times.

A bonus of the event is that it is a great way to increase your Battle Pass experience. One of the monthly Battle Pass challenges is to complete the Elemental Crucible Event ten times, for example.

That’s everything you need to know about how to complete the Elemental Crucible Event in Genshin Impact.
