The latest expansion to Destiny 2, Lightfall, has been a resounding success, at least judging by the community’s reactions. This new expansion comes out alongside Season 20 of the futuristic space warfare game developed by Bungie, where you control a Guardian and attempt to save the last of humankind from the Witness and a host of warmongering aliens. In the Lightfall expansion, take on Calus who has become a Disciple of the Witness and his Shadow Legion, who are well-trained and out for blood as well.
There are plenty of missions and quests that are coming alongside the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion campaign, and several of these will pit you against the new foes that are being introduced into the game this season. Calus is the boss who you will fight at the end of the Desperate Measures mission, and in this guide we will cover how to complete this quest in the game.

How Do You Complete the Desperate Measures Quest in Destiny 2 Lightfall?
The road to completing Desperate Measures is a long one, and it can be difficult for inexperienced players, especially on their first attempt at the mission. Therefore, we recommend that you at least have a power level of 1750, which is the Destiny 2 soft cap. Even if you are only playing the normal campaign and are not on the Legendary one, Desperate Measures can still be quite difficult to finish off. Anyways, without any further ado here is how you complete this quest in Destiny 2 Lightfall!
Head to Irkalla Complex
Your first objective is to make your way to Irkalla Complex, and this is super easy as all you need to do is travel the roads of Neomuna until you get to the location.
Clear the Barrier
There are some enemies blocking a barrier that you need to get past. In order to overcome this obstacle, try an Area of Effect weapon like a grenade launcher or a rocket launcher to get past these troublesome hostiles.
Keep Going Towards Irkalla Complex
You will need to continue going towards Irkalla Complex after you clear the barrier. Along the way make sure to empower your Guardian using Strand as the game tells you to do so. Also, drop a raid banner when you are able to as soon as possible on your trip.
Destroy the Anti-Air Guns
Respawning is restricted in this next fight, so make sure that you are careful in battle. Use your Strand subclass grapple to grab onto a Cabal Thresher and fight all of the enemies in the combat area that you will enter. Head towards a platform where you can spot some shielded machinery, and destroy the Shadow Guards who are protecting it in order to drop the shields. Your last step in this part of the Desperate Measures quest is to destroy this machinery, and then repeat this same process on the higher platform.
Destroy the Enemy Tanks and Secure the AA Guns
Defeat the enemies that remain, and then make use of the untested Ishtar weapon when you see the Goliath tanks, firing it at them to destroy these pesky adversaries. Again, make sure that you watch your health because respawning is restricted and you do not want to die!
Protect the Vault Entrance from Enemies
You will now have to defend the entrance to the vault from a ton of enemy attacks, which includes more tanks and other troublesome enemies like Tormenters known as the Imprint of Nezarec. NPC allies will storm in to reinforce you during the fight, so you will thankfully not be forced to do this task alone. After you have wiped them all out, descend as deep as possible towards the Veil so that you can take on Calus, which is the final step!
Defeat Emperor Calus and Save the Veil
In order to defeat Calus, you will need to struggle and play at the absolute best of your ability.
