Aloy is a playable character available in the Genshin Impact 2.1 update. Some people may already know her from Horizon Zero Dawn, the popular RPG from Guerilla Games initially released on PlayStation 4 in 2017. Well, she’s coming to Genshin Impact, and Travelers can claim her for free, but the release date varies by platform. If you don’t feel like waiting and have a PlayStation lying around, you can use cross-save functionality to claim Aloy in Genshin Impact as soon as possible.
Before diving into the details, Aloy is a free-to-play character in Genshin Impact. Aloy will eventually become available for everyone to claim for free, but PlayStation users get first dibs. There is a workaround, though, if you have a PlayStation account lying around and don’t feel like waiting until Genshin Impact 2.2.

When is the Aloy release date in Genshin Impact?
Aloy has two different release dates that vary depending on which platform you use for Genshin Impact. PlayStation players will get first dibs on Aloy and be able to claim her on September 1 with the Genshin Impact 2.1 update. Players on other platforms will receive Aloy on or around October 13 during the Genshin Impact 2.2 update. She will show up in your in-game mailbox and be available to claim at the corresponding dates.
Genshin Impact players will then have until the following patch (Update 2.3) to claim Aloy. If you play on anything other than PlayStation but happen to have a PlayStation handy, you’re in luck. You can claim Aloy with the rest of the PlayStation folks if you follow the steps outlined below.
How to get Aloy on PC on September 1
- Login or create a Mihoyo Account on the Mihoyo website
- Install Genshin Impact on PlayStation
- Choose the option to Link miHoYo Account (Email)
- Login using the account you just linked up
- Claim Aloy from your in-game mailbox
You must have a Mihoyo account to follow these steps. There’s a possibility if you play on mobile that you do not have a Mihoyo account, so head to the website, register, and link it up. Once that’s done, you can move on to getting your PSN account linked up.
Now, it’s important to note that the PSN account email you’re using has no pre-existing Genshin Impact data on it. If it does, you have two options: create a new PSN account or wipe the Genshin Impact data from your current PSN account. To do the latter option, you’ll need to contact Mihoyo customer service and have them manually wipe the data from your PSN account by unlinking it.
Unlike the Wings of Descension, Aloy will be usable outside of PlayStation, so there’s no need to worry about that. Thank you for reading!
