The web app for FIFA 23 was released late last week, officially kickstarting one of the most highly anticipated sports titles of the year. Now, fans can log in and begin building their teams, opening packs, and earning coins in preparation for the early access and full release of FIFA 23 in the coming days.
However, the release of the web app was immediately met with disappointment, as some of the changes have negatively impacted the overall experience of the game. One such change is with the Advanced SBCs and players being rewarded untradeable packs.
Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 23’s untradeable Advanced SBCs and the community’s reaction.
FIFA 23: Community Reacts to Untradeable Advanced SBCs
In previous FIFA games, Squad Building Challenges (or SBCs) were a vital part of FIFA Ultimate Team and provided some of the greatest packs available. Players could then sell certain cards obtained from the packs to make additional coins on the transfer market. Making this one of the easiest methods to earn coins on the web app.

In FIFA 23, Advanced SBCs are more complex and difficult challenges that provide players with expensive packs. Unfortunately, many players are having difficulty completing these challenges and the rewards from these SBCs are now untradeable as well, making it impossible to profit off the challenges. Which, as you can likely imagine, has caused quite a stir and negative reaction from the FIFA community.
As you can tell, the decision to make rewards untradeable has not gone over well with the community. EA Sports has not revealed why they made this change either, though it’s widely believed that it was implemented to prevent coin funneling. As players have previously built new accounts in order to finish Advanced SBCs and profit from selling the rewards. Where they could then transfer the coins over to their main account before repeating the process.
