Zombies Mode is back in Black Ops Cold War, and it’s a refreshing change from playing Multiplayer. There’s an ongoing story in the first Cold War Zombies map, in which players uncover what happened in Die Maschine. After only a few days, players have discovered everything there is to know about this map, including several Easter Eggs and unlockable items. The endgame, or final boss, is what you can work towards if you’re looking to complete the Die Maschine storyline. Here’s how to spawn the final boss in Die Maschine.
There are various Easter Eggs inside of Die Maschine to help you with this entire process. One you’ll want to complete is the Coffin Dance Easter Egg, which you can do by shooting five glowing orbs after making the Pack-A-Punch. You get a free Juggernog and a potential Ray Gun from the crate, so it’s worth doing.
Black Ops Cold War Zombies: How to Spawn the Final Boss in Die Maschine
Here are the steps for spawning the final boss in Die Maschine:
- Turn on the power and assemble the Pack-A-Punch.
- Obtain the D.I.E. Machine and upgrade all Wonder Weapons.
- Shoot the prongs on the canister with your Wonder Weapons.
- Take the Aether Anomaly in Medical Bay.
- Pick up the Dark Aether Wrench after the cutscene.
- Take the Wrench to the tank in the Yard and explode the tank.
- Pick up the Decontamination Agent at Crash Site.
- Capture the two split boss zombies in Medical Bay.
- Use the computer and take the Anomaly at Nacht.
- Interact with the ghost and pick up the Photograph.

Turn on the power and assemble the Pack-A-Punch
To begin this entire process, you need to complete the most basic tasks of turning on the power and assembling the Pack-A-Punch machine. The game walks you through this with markers, but you can refer to our guides if you need assistance. You will also need the Aether Scope, so you can see some of the things required to spawn this boss in the Aether Realm.
Obtain the D.I.E. Machine and upgrade all Wonder Weapons

Shoot the prongs on the canister with your Wonder Weapons
You will need to shoot the four prongs on the holding canister’s sides with the Wonder Weapons’ corresponding element. For example, you need to hit the reddish-brown prong with the Fire Upgrade, the blue prong with the Ice upgrade, and so on. A red case will then light up located in the outside viewing room of the Medical Bay.
Take the Aether Anomaly in Medical Bay
After shooting all the prongs, an Aether Anomaly spawns in the Medical Bay. Take the portal, and return to the Medical Bay to interact with the ghosts.
Pick up the Dark Aether Wrench after the cutscene
A short cutscene will spawn with two ghosts, Dmitriyev and Kaiashnik, speaking to each other. After the cutscene, the Aether portal will close, and a Dark Aether Wrench will spawn on the floor. Pick that up and proceed to the next step.
Take the Wrench to the tank in the Yard and explode the tank
Take the Aether Wrench up to the Yard, where you will see a tank. Interact with the tank three times with the Aether Wrench, and a zombie will spawn on it. Kill the zombie and use an explosive to blow up the tank. You can buy a Semtex at the Crafting Table in the Yard if you need it. The tank will then shoot across the map, and you can proceed to the next step.
Pick up the Decontamination Agent at Crash Site
Head to the Crash Site, near the Gallo shotgun purchase, and look for the Decontamination Agent. It’s lying on the ground from the tank that shot across the map and looks like a golden ball. Dogs will spawn after you pick it up, so be ready for that. Head back down to the Medical Bay and install the Decontamination Agent into the chamber.
Capture the two split boss zombies in Medical Bay
Next, you need to split a Megaton Zombies into the two smaller zombies and capture them in the Medical Bay canisters. You can only deposit one at a time, so kite the other around until you can deposit it.
Use the computer and take the Anomaly at Nacht
Next, head up to the viewing area on the Medical Bay deck and interact with the computer. Carver says something about the computer having intel on it about how to shut down this area. Interacting with the computer fuses the two halves into Orlov.
At this point, you need to deck out your character with every perk and weapon you can get to prepare for the boss fight. Use the Electric and Fire Wonder Weapon upgrades if you can get them.
Interact with the ghost and pick up the Photograph
Head into the Nacht der Untoten and take the Anomaly. After that, walk around and look for the Spectral Reflection. Interact with it, and the ghost of Orlov will spawn. After a dialogue, Orlov drops a photograph of his family. Pick this up, as it will be the requirement for starting the boss fight.
You will then go to the Pack-A-Punch machine, watch another cutscene, and begin the final boss fight. That’s how to spawn the final boss in Die Maschine.
