Best Pokemon Teams for Kanto Cup in Pokemon GO

Here are some of the best teams you can try out for Pokemon GO’s Kanto Cup:

  • Alolan Muk, Beedrill, Alolan Sandslash
  • Shadow Snorlax, Alolan Marowak, Hypno
  • Wigglytuff, Beedrill, Marowak
  • Alolan Marowak, Wigglytuff, Mew
  • Alolan Marowak, Venusaur, Raticate
  • Raticate, Golbat, Beedrill
  • Ninetales, Venusaur, Raticate

Team 1: Alolan Muk, Beedrill, Alolan Sandslash

  • Alolan Muk: Snarl, Sludge Wave, Dark Pulse
  • Beedrill: Poison Jab, Drill Run, Sludge Bomb
  • Alolan Sandslash: Powder Snow, Ice Punch, Gyro Ball

Kanto Cup has lots of charmers, which means a good anti-cheat team might be a good idea. For this team, the Alolan Muk takes the lead, and the Beedrill is the safe swap to bait Alolan Marowak. As the closer, you can throw in Alolan Sandslash with Gyro Ball.

Team 2: Shadow Snorlax, Alolan Marowak, Hypno

  • Shadow Snorlax: Lick, Body Slam, Superpower
  • Alolan Marowak: Fire Spin, Shadow Bone, Bone Club
  • Hypno: Confusion, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast

Many players will be running Ghost, Psychic, and Poison-types, such as Alolan Muk, Alolan Marowak, Mew, and others. Fighters are uncommon in this meta, so Snorlax won’t have to worry about many matchups. The two other Pokemon can come in if a Fighter-type does happen to pop out. The team is also a good investment for players that don’t want to invest too much dust into creating a team that’s only viable for the Kanto cup.

Team 3: Wigglytuff, Beedrill, Alolan Marowak

  • Wigglytuff: Charm, Ice Beam, Play Rough
  • Beedrill: Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Drill Run
  • Marowak: Fire Spin, Bone Club, Shadow Bone

We’re going with Wigglytuff for a lead here, as she wins against most people. Alolan Marowak comes in handy for any Grass and Poison-type leads that may pop up. Beedrill is also formidable against Grass, Poison, Dark, and Psychic-types.

Team 4: Alolan Marowak, Wigglytuff, Mew

  • Marowak: Fire Spin, Bone Club, Shadow Bone
  • Wigglytuff: Charm, Ice Beam, Play Rough
  • Mew: Shadow Claw, Surf, Wild Charge

Next up, we’ll be using Alolan Marowak as the lead, who needs no introduction. Water, Ground, and Rock-types can be dealt with by Mew. We also throw in Wigglytuff as a safe swap and to handle any Dark-types you might encounter.

Team 5: Alolan Marowak, Venusaur, Raticate

  • Marowak: Fire Spin, Bone Club, Shadow Bone
  • Venusaur: Vine Whip, Frenzy Plant, Sludge Bomb
  • Raticate: Quick Attack, Crunch, Hyper Fang

Again, we’re using Marowak as the lead, but this time, we go with Venusaur for any Water, Ground, or Rock-types. In the back, we’re going with Raticate to handle any Dark or Ghost-types, along with powerful damage against enemies with no shields.

Team 6: Raticate, Golbat, Beedrill

  • Raticate: Quick Attack, Crunch, Hyper Fang
  • Golbat: Wing Attack, Poison Fang, Shadow Ball
  • Beedrill: Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Drill Run

We’re going with Raticate in the lead for this team because it’s good against other popular choices this meta. We like the idea of throwing in Golbat here to resist the fighters and charmers. Beedrill is also in the back for some more Fighter and Charm resistance.

Team 7: Ninetales, Venusaur, Raticate

  • Ninetales: Fire Spin, Weather Ball, Psyshock
  • Venusaur: Vine Whip, Frenzy Plant, Sludge Bomb
  • Raticate: Quick Attack, Crunch, Hyper Fang

Ninetales is our pick for this team lead, as it does well against a good majority of the Kanto Cup meta. In the case of Rock, Water, or Ground-types, we throw in Venusaur. Raticate pulls up the rear for some good stats, high charge damage against no shields, and some overall beefiness.
