The MP5 is one of the most solid SMGs in Call of Duty, and things remain the same in Cold War. This submachine gun is a crowd-favorite for a good reason. Its accuracy, time to kill, and versatility make it a solid choice for close to medium range combat. While it is better in some modes than others, it’s an excellent weapon to master. Mobility is the name of the game, and that’s what you should focus on for the attachments. In this guide, we take a look at the best MP5 loadout for Black Ops Cold War.
It’s worth mentioning that the Gunfighter wildcard is fantastic in most loadouts. For those not familiar, it allows you to equip three additional attachments to your weapon. In other words, you can run ALL the attachments. That’s what we’ll be using here in this build, so make sure to throw it in your loadout if you want to mimic this setup.
Best MP5 loadout in Black Ops Cold War
Here are the best attachments to run on the MP5:
- Muzzle: SOCOM Eliminator
- Barrel: 9.5″ Reinforced Heavy
- Body: Steady Aim Laser
- Underbarrel: Foregrip
- Magazine: 40 Rnd Speed Mag
- Handle: Speed Tape
- Stock: Collapsed Stock
To start things off, we go with the SOCOM Eliminator muzzle. It provides some muzzle flash concealment, and vertical recoil control to help make this thing more of a laser beam. This attachment is a late unlock, so you may want to use something like Sound Suppressor until then.
For the barrel, we go with the 9.5″ Reinforced Heavy for extra bullet velocity and damage range. It allows this gun to be more effective at medium and longer range distances. Next up, use the Steady Aim Laser for some added hip-fire accuracy.
To reduce horizontal recoil control, the Foregrip is the best option to throw on the underbarrel. In terms of ammunition, the 40 Rnd Speed Mag is a must. It gives a 33% increase to ammo capacity and starting ammo, along with a 25% quicker reload speed.
One of the most important stats in Call of Duty when using submachine guns is undoubtedly Sprint to Fire Time. Because of this, we go with the Speed Tape and Collapsed Stock, both of which increase that stat. There are other viable attachments options like No Stock, but it’s up to you to unlock those so you can equip them.P
Perks
The perks you should consider running for multiplayer are as follows:
- Flak Jacket: take less damage from enemy explosives and molotovs.
- Scavenger: pick up ammo from fallen players.
- Ghost: undetectable by enemy spy planes.
Equipment
Here’s some equipment to consider running in this loadout, and most others for Cold War:
- Tactical: Stimshot
- Lethal: C4 or Semtex
- Field Upgrade: Field Mic
Stimshot is the most important tactical due to the fact that it instantly heals you and has a short cooldown. Not having to wait for your heal to kick-in drastically improves your overall score and damage output per game. Field Mic is another great item, as it allows you to get enemy position intel every round.
