In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, there is six primary summons available. One is through the story, four are from VR missions, and one is found out in the world. In addition to that, there’s also three DLC summons that can be obtained from pre-orders.
As a disclaimer, the last Summon Materia on this list contains spoilers. If you want the last Summon Materia to be a surprise, make sure not to scroll to the bottom of this article.
Summon Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Here is a complete list of all the Summon Materia in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, for the exception of one to avoid any spoilers. These ones can be obtained by playing the game and completing various VR missions.
Ifrit Summon Materia
The first Summon Materia you will encounter in the game is Ifrit Materia. All you need to do for this one is to simply play the game and at a certain point, you will unlock it.
Chocobo and Moogle Summon Materia

Shiva Summon Materia
The Shiva Summon comes from VR missions from Chadley. Many of the Battle Intel missions you get are linked to things like Summon Materia. Shiva Summon is the first one you will encounter when you get to the Sector 5 Slums. We have a Shiva Summon Materia walkthrough if you’re interested.
Fat Chocobo Summon Materia
To get the Fat Chocobo Materia, you will need to complete the Battle Intel Report 10, which is the Combat Simulation: Fat Chocobo. The reward for completing this is the Fat Chocobo Materia.
Leviathan Summon Materia
Leviathan can be found through the third VR mission. After you do that, you will have to fight Leviathan and then you will obtain the Summon Materia.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC Summons
The following Summon Materia can be obtained through pre-ordering the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

- Cactuar Summon – Pre-order Final Fantasy 7 Deluxe Edition

Bahamut Summon Materia
Bahamut is difficult to unlock because you need to complete every single Battle Intel mission. Some of these are rather difficult so it may take you a bit of time to unlock this final Materia. After completing all the Battle Intel missions, the final VR mission will unlock to get Bahamut Summon Materia.
