Genshin Impact Giving Away Primogems Due to Update Delay — How to Get Yours

Good news, travelers!

Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has announced how it plans to compensate players following the indefinite delay of the new update. Players who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or higher by May 11 will be eligible for weekly rewards, including:

  • Primogem x 400
  • Fragile Resin x 1
  • Hero’s Wit x 7
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore x 16
  • Mora x 120,000

In addition, if the delayed update arrives in less than a week, the amounts will be adjusted. If eligible, players will see the first round of compensation every Wednesday at 04:00 (server time) starting May 11. Each compensation package will be valid for thirty days.

This is the first time a Genshin Impact update has been delayed since its launch in 2020. Version 2.7 has been teased to include new characters Yelan, who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs in Liyue, and Kuki Shinobu, the deputy leader of the Arataki Gang in Inazuma.

Genshin Impact is developed and published by HoYoverse. Since its launch in 2020, the game has reportedly made $3 Billion, and the train doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. As of Version 1.6’s introduction of the third of seven exploratory regions, Inazuma, it will likely take many more years before the story reaches its natural conclusion.
