Klink and its evolutions are definitely the kind of Pokemon you either like or hate, depending on your design sensibilities. Either you get a sensible chuckle out of a pair of little gears with doofy faces and big noses, or you think its one of the laziest Pokemon ever conceived. Hey, there’s nearly a thousand of these things, they can’t all be winners. Whether you care for it or not, you still gotta catch ‘em all, so here are Klink’s weaknesses and Raid counters in Pokemon GO.
Klink Resistances and Weaknesses
Klink is a pure Steel type, which, to its credit, does give it an above average number of type resistances, which are as follows:
- Resistant to: Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Fairy
- Double-Resistant to: Poison
- Weak against: Fighting, Ground, Fire
Klink’s Steel typing gives it slightly above-average defense for a low-rung Pokemon. Even so, since it’s not a fully-realized Steel type, that boost is pretty miniscule, with a base defense of 121. Along with a base attack of just 98 and a base stamina of 120, Klink isn’t much of a threat, even at its max Raid CP of 546, 683 boosted.
Klink Moves
There are the moves available in Klink’s kit in Pokemon GO:
Quick Moves
- Charge Beam (Electric)
- Volt Switch (Electric)
Main Moves
- Vise Grip (Normal)
- Discharge (Electric)
- Zap Cannon (Electric)
Klink Counters
If you were trying to go at Klink with an equally low-rung Pokemon of a type that it’s resistant to, you might have a teensy bit of trouble piercing its defense. However, this can be easily remedied by using Pokemon from its three weaknesses, which just happen to be some of the strongest damage-dealing types. Since Klink can only use Electric and Normal moves, it can’t really do much of anything to stop you.
List of Klink Counters
- Landorus Theria: Mud Shot/Earthquake
- Ho-Oh: Hidden Power/Sacred Fire++
- SirFetchd: Counter/Close Combat
- Flareon: Ember/Overheat
- Lucario: Counter/Aura Sphere
- Entei: Fire Spin/Overheat
- Conkeldurr: Counter/Dynamic Punch
- Chandelure: Fire Spin/Shadow Ball
- Darmanitan: Fire Fang/Overheat
- Reshiram: Fire Fang/Overheat
- Rapid Strike Urshifu: Counter/Dynamic Punch
If you’re in the mood for a Fighting type, Lucario and Conkeldurr will do you just fine, with the former having more than enough base attack to put Klink down in a couple of moves. If you’d rather opt for a Fire type, Chandelure and Darmanitan are your guys. Chandelure’s Fire DPS is already quite infamous, so it’s honestly not even a fair fight for Klink.
It’s entirely unnecessary, but if you’re in an extravagant mood, Reshiram and Rapid Strike Urshifu are the optimal Legendaries for this fight. Whip ‘em out and quickly crush Klink if you’ve got other things to do today.
