Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier Beta Details

Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier Beta Details

I have no idea who at Square Enix looked at Final Fantasy 7 Remake and said to themselves, “you know what this needs? A battle royale spin-off.” The gaming industry confuses and terrifies me sometimes. Well, whether it makes sense or not, Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is coming soon, along with a closed beta. Here are the details on the Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier beta.

Square Enix will be running a closed beta test for Final Fantasy 7: The Last Soldier, their mobile battle royal spin-off, from June 1st to June 7th. The full game doesn’t currently have a release date beyond some time in 2021, but with any luck, this beta test will give them the information they need to give us a more concrete timeframe later down the line. If you want to participate in the beta, you can pre-register on its Google Play Store page, located here. There are, however, a few caveats to participation.

Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier Beta Details

Firstly, if the use of the Google Play Store didn’t tip you off, this beta will only be running on Android mobile devices. Specifically, 64-bit Android mobile devices with at least 3GB of available memory, running at least Android 7.1 or newer.

This closed beta will only be in English, and only open to residents of the United States and Canada. Pre-registration is currently open and will remain open until May 27th, but not everyone who pre-registers will get in. If you do get an invite, you’ll be notified through Google Play.

Finally, any character and account progress made during the beta period will not carry over into the game’s full release, whenever it ends up being. On the bright side, though, if you run a streaming channel, Square Enix has given blanket permission for all beta participants to stream footage of the game.
