Pokémon GO March Spotlight Hours

Pokémon GO March Spotlight Hours

Currently, there are 893 unique species of Pokémon, and debatably more depending on whether you count things like Mega Evolutions and distinct forms as separate things. A lot of these Pokémon tend to go by the wayside in favor of the more well-known ones, and that’s a little sad. This is why it’s nice that Pokémon GO takes the time to dedicate an hour to a singular Pokémon every week. Here are the March spotlight hours for Pokémon GO.

If you aren’t in the know, here’s a quick refresher. The spotlight hour is a little event in Pokémon GO that occurs every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in your local timezone. During these hour-long periods, a single Pokémon has a major boost to its spawn rate, and one to three special bonuses are enacted. These bonuses can be things like a greater chance to catch shinies, more catch XP, more Stardust, more Candy, and so on. Whether you’re interested in the highlighted Pokémon or are just interested in farming resources, the spotlight hour is a great time to play Pokémon GO.

Niantic schedules out a month’s spotlight hours in advance and makes the schedule public at the beginning of the month. We’re already halfway through March, so here’s what you still have to look forward to for the next couple of weeks.

  • March 23rd: Increased Surskit spawns, double XP per successful catch.
  • March 30th: Increased Slugma spawns, double Pokémon Candy per successful catch.

Also, just for completion purposes, here’s what you may have missed from the first two weeks of the month.

  • March 2nd: Increased Krabby spawns, increased chance of shinies, double Candy from transfers.
  • March 9th: Increased Drowzee spawns, increased chance of shinies, double XP from evolving.
  • March 16th: Increased Voltorb spawns, increased chance of shinies, double Stardust per successful catch. This spotlight is considered a part of the “Charge Up” event.
