Okay, actual question: does anyone know what Landorus’ tail is supposed to be? Thundurus and Tornadus’ tails make sense, but what the heck is Landorus’? It looks like a cross between an octopus tentacle and a Snickers bar. Clearly, we’ll have to catch it to get a closer look. For science, of course. Here’s how to catch Landorus in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO is currently in the midst of its Season of Legends, er, season, wherein some legendaries that weren’t already in the game have finally made their appearances, along with some exclusive Field Research tasks and increased encounter rates. The highlight of the season is the Forces of Nature trio, Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus. They’ve been in the game for a while, but only in their Incarnate formes. With Season of Legends, their Therion formes are now also available. For each week, a different member of the trio will be available in legendary raids, first in their Incarnate formes, followed by their Therion formes. As it so happens, Incarnate Landorus is the star of the show from March 1 to March 6, so if you wanna catch him, now’s the time.
How to Catch Landorus in Pokémon GO
To catch Landorus, you’ll need to hunt down one of his legendary raids and defeat him, after which he’ll immediately spawn in the wild and you can chuck some balls at him. Incarnate Landorus is a Ground/Flying type, which gives him a slightly tricky set of resistances. He’ll resist Electric, Fighting, Bug, Poison, and Ground, and he’s only vulnerable to Ice and Water. His moves run the gamut of Rock, Ground, Fighting, and even Dragon, so you’re gonna need a very particular kit to outlast him.
Stocky Ice types like Mammoswine, Jynx, or Galarian Darmanitan are an excellent choice, as they can attack Landorus’ weakness without putting themselves in too much danger. If you’re lucky enough to have Mewtwo or Mew on deck, they can nail Landorus pretty hard with an Ice Beam, while their Psychic typing will protect them from the worst Landorus can offer. As long as you’ve got the defense and type advantage, Landorus will go down without too much trouble, and then he’ll be yours for the catching.
