Genshin Impact continues to drag its users into an ever-deepening lore with each new update, and the newest 3.5 release is now different. There are many things about the world of Teyvat that players are confused about, and as you play the game some of these mysteries get solved. However, a number of them have yet to be fleshed out, whether that’s because they won’t ever be or due to an upcoming update that is not yet released. Whatever the reason, Genshin Impact players have plenty of theories about some parts of their world.
Exploring the world of Genshin Impact as the Traveler, you are searching for your lost sibling who is also currently in Teyvat. Throughout the many quests and missions you can complete in this game, you will often get hints at their location or even encounter your sibling for brief moments. The Loom of Fate quests seem to be one of the most revealing about what your sibling has been up to, and in this article we discuss what that mysterious object actually is.

What Does the Loom of Fate Do in Genshin Impact?
First off, it is important to preface that very little is known by anyone about what the Loom of Fate represents or how it fits in to the lore of Genshin Impact. There have only been a couple of missions that we go on in the game where we encounter even a mention of the object, and aside from that it is rarely spoken of. Some players believe that the Loom can be used to fix Teyvat and flip it back, while others are planning to use it for their own goals. Here is a look at the missions where you can find the Loom of Fate.
Archon Quest Chapter I: Act IV – We Will Be Reunited
In this quest the Traveler works with Paimon and Dainsleif to search for more information concerning the Abyss Order. This organization is trying to create a mechanical god using a bunch of different powerful artifacts, and they call their operation the Loom of Fate operation. They plan to use this new mechanical god to topple Celestia and take control, ruling over whatever their hearts desire. You eventually discover in this operation that your sibling is the leader of the Abyss Order, and Dainsleif chases them into a portal while you are left behind with Paimon.
Archon Quest Chapter III: Act VI
The Bough Keeper takes you, Paimon and Dainsleif to a place where he remembers your sibling talking about the Loom of Fate a while back, so you all go there in order to investigate it. While there you stumble upon an abandoned house, and have to defeat some monsters that are there. The Traveler takes a nap and falls asleep, only to wake up to Eide who is in the house and trying to save his son Caribert. He was turned into a Hilichurl by the gods as punishment.
Eventually, you follow a different Hilichurl into a secret Dungeon where there is a hanging crystal with a powerful aura. Eide absorbs the power of the Abyss. This is then used to help recover Caribert’s mind, which makes his father extremely happy. Unfortunately, Caribert quickly begins deteriorating and there is a huge explosion of power. After the Traveler wakes up again, Eided reveals that he is the founder of the Abyss Order, and that his son has gone on to become the Loom of Fate, which will let him weave his own destiny as he wishes. We are not exactly sure what this means, but it clearly has something to do with the Void Realm’s power.
