There are plenty of weapons to fill your loadout with in Destiny 2, but only some of them will make a huge difference in how well you can do during the Root of Nightmares raid. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to do any of the work to find them – we have created a list perfect for any aspiring raider below. Without any further ado, here are the best weapons to pick for this new raid!

The Succession Sniper Rifle

This Legendary tier weapon deals Kinetic damage to anyone unlucky enough to be hit by it. If you don’t have it yet, the Succession can be obtained from the Deep Stone Crypt raid, and it is certainly worth your effort to finish this raid. Although it deals very high damage, the Succession also has a lot of recoil which means it can be difficult to aim on occasion.

The Heritage Shotgun

Blow your foes away with this Legendary shotgun! Smashing enemies to bits with Kinetic damage, the Heritage can destroy even the toughest of hostiles. Although it isn’t too great at a longer range, being in close quarters makes the Heritage a strong contender for one of the most lethal weapons in the game. You can get it from the Deep Stone Crypt raid as well if you don’t have it yet.

The Wendigo GL3

Don’t tell your enemies, but the GL in the Wendigo’s name actually stands for Grenade Launcher! Deal explosive damage from a distance with this weapon, and dish out Power damage using its shells. Added in Season 19, the Wendigo is still a very new weapon however it is already proving to be a formidable force on the battlefield. You can obtain it from completing Nightfall in Destiny 2.

The Stormchaser

Instead of chasing storms, you’ll be chasing down your enemies when you put this glorious Linear Fusion Rifle to use. Perfect for players who like to control the battlefield and want a gun that will do just that, the Stormchaser dishes out Power damage that is sure to leave a mark on even the strongest adversaries. You can get the Stormchaser from playing through the Duality Dungeon if you haven’t got it yet.

The Arbalest

Another Linear Fusion Rifle, the Arbalest is an Exotic tier weapon that deals Kinetic damage when its shots land. Your shots from this weapon will deal additional damage against enemy shields, which makes it great for defeating those pesky shield-using hostiles. How dare they protect themselves against your wrath! Unlock the Arbalest by purchasing it from Xur or through completing Gambit, the Crucible and Vanguard Strikes activities.

Izanagi’s Burden

Last but not least, this Sniper Rifle is an extremely strong Exotic tier weapon that will finish off foes before they even know you’re there. Whenever you aim this long-distance menace, you will reduce flinch which is just an added bonus to the already powerful gun. With a decently quick reload speed and high Kinetic damage, Izanagi’s Burden is sure to relieve your enemies of one burden – their heads!
