Genshin Impact is the new action-RPG from miHoYo, which quickly got many people’s attention after the release on September 28, 2020. Players from all over on PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile devices can try out the game today. It’s entirely free-to-play but has gacha game elements, so expect a lot of optional microtransactions. Many people are wondering if Genshin Impact is multiplayer. Here’s everything you need to know.
Is Genshin Impact Multiplayer?
Genshin Impact supports multiplayer, but players need to hit a certain level to unlock it. The multiplayer level requirement is Adventure Rank 16. After reaching that account-wide level, multiplayer mode opens for all of your characters. So, if you’re looking to play with your friends, you will need to spend some time in the world, first.
To open up the multiplayer and co-op mode, look for the star icon on the screen’s top left. For players on PC, press the F2 key, and for PlayStation 4 players, look for Multiplayer on the menu. Activating this mode presents players with some options for how their friends can join. You can invite players to join your game from a friend ID, but make sure they are also Adventure Rank 16.
A maximum of four players can play together at any given time. You do not need a full party of four, meaning you can also play with party sizes of two or three. An entire party of players is ideal for taking on mighty dungeons and challenging enemies. You can also choose to roam around the world together, but you cannot grind through quests.
One thing to note about Genshin Impact multiplayer is that only the host can open chests and collect specific resources. Therefore, joining someone else’s game will forfeit the ability to do this on your own. Additionally, only the host can make an offer to the Statue of the Seven. That’s everything you need to know about Genshin Impact multiplayer.
