There are many Shrine of Depths locations across Liyue and Mondstadt. Unlocking them all will credit you with an in-game achievement, for some extra Primogems.
How to Unlock a Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact
To get unlock a Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact, you need to do the following:
- Obtain a Mondstadt or Liyue Shrine of Depths Key
- Use the key to open the Shrine of Depths
Where to find Shrine of Depths Keys
To open the barriers that guard the Shrines of Depths, you’ll need keys. These keys won’t just be lying around on the ground somewhere, though. There are three primary ways to obtain keys:
- Clearing certain Abyssal Domains.
- Finishing certain Quests.
- Finishing certain entries in the Adventurer Handbook.
There are separate keys and shrines for the Mondstadt and Liyue regions, ten key-shrine pairs each. You can tell if you’ve got a Mondstadt or Liyue shrine based on the color of the barrier: green for Mondstadt, orange for Liyue.
How to get Mondstadt Shrine of Depths Keys
Here’s how to get the keys to the Mondstadt shrines:
- Clear the Temple of the Falcon (Adventure Rank 12).
- Clear the Temple of the Wolf (Adventure Rank 15).
- Clear the Temple of the Lion (Adventure Rank 18).
- Clear Eagle’s Gate (Adventure Rank 21).
- Finish “New Horizons of Adventure.”
- Complete the first Rank Ascension Quest at Adventure Rank 25. This one yields three keys!
- Upgrade Mondstadt’s Statues of the Seven to Level 6 in Chapter 4 of the Adventurer Handbook.
- Open 100 chests in Chapter 5 of the Adventurer Handbook.
To clarify, the challenges you’ll have to clear in the Temples of the Falcon, Wolf, and Lion are separate from the ones you’ll clear as part of Mondstadt’s Archon Quests.
How to get Liyue Shrine of Depths Keys
Here’s how to get the keys to the Liyue shrines:
- Clear the Domain of Forsaken Ruins (Adventure Rank 24)
- Clear the Domain of the Wayward Path (Adventure Rank 27)
- Clear “Voyage to the Sanguine Sky” in the Hidden Palace of Guizang Formula (Adventure Rank 30)
- Clear “Travels of the Moonlit Venturer” in the Hidden Palace of Guizang Formula (Adventure Rank 35)
- Finish “The Chi of Guyun.”
- Finish “The Tree who Stands Alone.”
- Finish “Treasure Lost, Treasure Found.”
- Complete the second Rank Ascension Quest at Adventure Rank 35. This one yields three keys!
