Jagged Alliance 3, the newest addition to the beloved Jagged Alliance franchise, has finally arrived, and with it comes the exciting addition of cooperative multiplayer gameplay! Joining forces with friends to tackle the challenging mercenary life in this immersive world can enhance the gaming experience to a whole new level. Read on to discover the essential steps and strategies required to master the art of cooperative play in Jagged Alliance 3!

How to Play Co-Op in Jagged Alliance 3

Jagged Alliance 3 allows players to experience the game’s entire campaign with their friends in online co-op mode.

At any time, players have the ability to invite an additional player into their primary campaign, or establish a fresh campaign for their cooperative journey. Irrespective of whether someone is playing alongside them or not, players are also able to save their progress at any given moment.

Additionally, even if the additional player leaves the game, the host (Player 1) is able to continue playing in the same game. Both players have the ability to load any of the saves generated during cooperative gameplay, be it an auto-save or a manually created save, and continue from those points in single-player mode.

Players have the ability to invite another player into the game at any given time, and they are even permitted to designate particular mercenaries for them to command. Additionally, the host (Player 1) retains the authority to withdraw control from one or more mercenaries whenever desired.

The additional player is not permitted to transfer their own soldiers from their individual game; instead, they have the option to recruit fresh mercenaries, as long as sufficient funds are accessible. So although they don’t have complete autonomy over their friend’s game, they are able to assist whenever needed or desired.

Co-Op Limit in Jagged Alliance 3

You’d think that a game as large and expansive as Jagged Alliance 3 would allow a large co-op limit, but you’d, unfortunately, be wrong. Jagged Alliance 3 may allow its players to play through its campaign with friends, but it has a depressingly tiny co-op limit of only 2 players.

Why this game’s co-op limit is so low is anyone’s guess, but at least it offers some kind of multiplayer option; since the game’s explorable world is so expansive, it’s extremely beneficial for players to be able to invite their friends to help them through tough campaigns.

Does Jagged Alliance 3 Offer Local Co-Op?

We’ve gone over the basics of Jagged Alliance 3’s online co-op capabilities, but haven’t yet touched on whether or not it offers local co-op. This is mainly due to the fact that, unfortunately, Jagged Alliance 3 only offers online co-op capabilities between players.

At this time, Jagged Alliance 3 does not offer local co-op. Since it’s still a newly released title, there’s always the possibility that a local co-op feature could be added in the future, but no statements regarding this issue have been made by the developers at this time.

Is Jagged Alliance 3 Cross-Platform?

Although players can enjoy running the game’s campaign together in online co-op mode, they cannot play together cross-platform. Unfortunately, Jagged Alliance 3 is only offered on Microsoft Windows, making it impossible for the game to offer any cross-platform capabilities.

Although Jagged Alliance 3 is currently only offered on a single platform at this time, it’s still a very new game and has the potential to be developed for other platforms in the near future.

The game’s developers, Haemimont Games, haven’t released any statements that could indicate the possibility of a future console release, but it still wouldn’t hurt to keep your eyes peeled for any Jagged Alliance 3-related news, just in case.

The Jagged Alliance game franchise is a renowned series of turn-based tactical strategy games that have captivated gamers for decades, and its newest installment definitely hasn’t disappointed any of the franchise’s diehard fans.
