How to Get the Sledgehammer in Escape from Tarkov – Location

It's sledgin' time.

Have you ever swung a sledgehammer around, just for the heck of it? It’s got such a nice heft to it; just holding one of those things fills you with the urge to smash something. There’s certainly no shortage of things to smash in Escape from Tarkov, so a sledgehammer wouldn’t go amiss there. Here’s how to get the sledgehammer in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Get the Sledgehammer in Escape from Tarkov – Location

The sledgehammer, also known as the Fierce Blow sledgehammer, is a hit tool item you can find in Escape from Tarkov. You can probably guess what it’s used for at a glance: you swing it at stuff you want to break, be it structures or constructs, and they break. Besides its field applications, you also need one to smash through the level 4 defective wall in your Hideout.

While there is no hard and fast spawn location for a sledgehammer, there are plenty of places where one has a chance to pop up. As long as you know where to look, you’ll almost definitely find one sooner or later, ripe for the swinging.

Potential Sledgehammer Locations

The first place you should look isn’t too far from home. Visit the cultist room found on the second floor of the building on Chekannya St. on the streets of Tarkov. Carefully look along the room’s wooden floor, as there may be a sledgehammer hidden within it. Even if you don’t see one, search thoroughly.

Our next stop is the Customs area. There are a few places we can check for sledgehammers around here:

  • On the shelves of the gas station
  • In the first-floor common room of the dorms
  • In the trunk of the blue car in the shipping area
  • On the shelves under the streamer room

If that didn’t yield anything, it’s time to visit the mall of the Interchange. There’s no hardware store, but that won’t stop us! Check these spots:

  • In the back of Goshan, next to the shelves
  • In the National, on the floor next to the cabinets
  • In Brutal, on the shelves
  • Near the door in the back of Idea

There’s still one more place we can try if you’re coming up empty: the Cape Dalniy Lighthouse. Or, more specifically, in the vicinity of the Lighthouse:

  • In the garage east of the Mountain Pass extract
  • On a crate in the construction zone near the road

Odds are good at least one of these spots will yield a sledgehammer for you. As you search, though, remember to smack open any wooden crates you stumble upon, as there is a chance a sledgehammer can spawn within at random.
