How to get the Aether Tool in Zombies Outbreak

To get the Aether Tool in Outbreak, you will need to locate and complete the Fury Crystal quest on any map.

The Fury Crystal side quest is a randomly occurring event on any of the Outbreak maps. It shows up as a crystal icon on the map. You will see a Red Aether Crystal at the event location, and destroying it will begin the time trial. After shooting the Crystal, several more Red Crystals, about six or seven, will spawn in a nearby radius. You will have approximately 90 seconds to locate and destroy all of the nearby Crystal to complete the event. Be careful, though, because Zombies will continuously spawn during this time.

Upon destroying the final Red Crystal, a legendary Aether Tool item will drop on the ground. The Aether Tool is a new item added in Black Ops Cold War Season 3.

What does the Aether Tool do in Zombies Outbreak?

The Aether Tool automatically upgrades your current weapon one rarity level. For example, if you have an uncommon weapon, picking up an Aether Tool will upgrade it to rare quality. As you can imagine, this is a very useful sidequest to complete if you need an extra tier on your gun for a bit of damage boost.
