How to Find Butcher in Diablo 4

You don’t have to find the Butcher. The Butcher will find you. The secret boss is a rare, random spawn and can appear in any of The Fractured Peaks 23 optional dungeons. Fortunately, for those looking to avoid the boss, he won’t appear anywhere else. Many players trying the game out have unfortunately ran into him when they were least prepared.

For those actually looking to fight The Butcher, you’ll have to just keep making your way through the different dungeons and hope he makes an appearance.

How to Beat Butcher in Diablo 4

Beating The Butcher can be quite tricky. For one, you have a limited amount of time before the boss will despawn, robbing you of all your hard work. Likewise, the Butcher can be a bit of a beast to actually take down, especially if you are playing solo. The character packs a punch and can quickly knock away chunks of health with his cleaver. Additionally, The Butcher has a lot of health, making him a bit of a pain to defeat.

Best Strategies to Beat Butcher

Teamwork is probably your best bet to take The Butcher down. Having a group of fellow players will allow you to quickly defeat the enemy. It goes without saying that you should use your class abilities and cool downs to take away chunks of health at a time. For your team, you want to have a couple people with strong single-target damage per-second builds. You may also want to have a rank to help on the defense. For instance, a Barbarian with Thick Skin as a skill can draw The Butcher’s attacks while getting up close and personal, allowing the Sorcerer and Rogue to pick away damage from a distance.

Butcher’s Weaknesses

The Butcher can be quick and moves around the screen, but he is susceptible to targeted-range attacks. Attacking from a distance will allow you to avoid many of his cleaver attacks. Likewise, you may want a character who can quickly get close, take a few slivers of health away, before retreating.

As of right now, however, the Butcher’s biggest weakness is an environmental glitch. If you leave the room where he spawned, it’s possible that the Butcher will freeze against the door frame, allowing you to easily defeat him. This will probably be patched in the future.

Best Class Against Butcher

  • The Sorcer: Teleport, Frost Armor, Inferno, Fireballs, or Meteor

The Sorcer is is a great class to use against The Butcher because it allows players to attack from a range with focused damage. Likewise, teleport will allow you to quickly escape The Butcher’s attacks.

  • Rogue: Forceful Arrow, Dash, Dark Shroud, Exploit, Consuming Shadows

Combining Forceful Arrow with several mobility skills like Dash will allow players to hit from a distance while having the speed to move across the battlefield.

Rewards for Beating Butcher

If you should beat The Butcher, you will likely get a Legendary item or two for each member of your party. The Butcher also has a chance to drop The Butcher’s Cleaver, but it’s sadly only equipable by Barbarians. Its abilities include Lucky Hit which has a 100% chance to Fear enemies and a 70% chance to slow them for four seconds.
