How Do You Complete Malestrom in Destiny 2?
In order to complete the Maelstrom quest in Lightfall, it is important that players first understand how the Vex Incursion Zone works, and that it switches each week to one of three different areas in Neomuna. The Vex Incursion Zone increases both Strand Meditation drops and the appearance rate of Strand sources. Without further ado, here is how to complete the quest and earn your rewards!
Protect the Vex Incursion Zone
The first step in this mission is to defend the Vex Incursion Zone by finishing Public Events, opening loot chests and also gathering Destiny 2 cloud accretions. This will require you to do a lot of work in order to grind the required objective, since each cloud accretion and chest will reward you approximately 2% progress while a completed patrol will give you 4% progress. If you happen to have a key, Terminal Overload chests will also grant progress towards this part of the quest.
Finish the Lost Sector in the Vex Incursion Zone
This part of the Malestrom mission is fairly straightforward, and all that you need to do is find the lost sector in the current Vex Incursion Zone. Once you have done that, go ahead and complete it as you normally would to complete this objective.
Repair Maelstrom’s Memorial
Next up on the list will have you returning to the Hall of Heroes and fixing up Maelstrom’s memorial there, similar to the Stargazer memorial and the Bluejay memorial (which will be the mission that is up next in this questline). Interact with the monument to fix it up and move on to the final step of this quest.
