Fight your way to glory and gold in Dadaupa Gorge’s arena by taking advantage of these tips in our Genshin Impact Contending Tides guide.

Crowd Control and Swirl Your Way To Success

When trying to choose which characters to use for the event, the best options are those with crowd control abilities. Besides the Frostarm Lawachurl and Ruin Guard levels, the event is mostly beating up large groups of hilichurl and slimes (the most common enemies in the game). Since all of the Anemo characters are able to group smaller enemies together with their swirl reactions, they can make quick work of crowds. For this reason, we highly suggest having one on your team for this event challenge.

Any of the following (non-Anemo) characters will also give you a better chance of becoming the champ:

  • Albedo
  • Zhongli
  • Lisa
  • Fischl
  • Ganyu

Make sure to check out the stage details on the event page before each battle since you’ll probably want to change your team around for the two larger enemy fights (mentioned previously). We advise at least one strong pyro character for the fight against the Frostarm Lawachurl to melt his Cryo shield and a bow-and-arrow user to shoot the Ruin Guard’s core.

Low-Level Players, Try Co-Op Mode

Making the most out of every event the game offers is essential for obtaining new characters and weapons or enhancing current ones. So even if you prefer playing the game solo, it’s to your benefit to team up with a higher level player if you’re having difficulties completing all the challenges.

Thankfully, Genshin Impact makes teaming up with other players online super easy. It’s as simple as entering co-op mode and asking to join someone’s world or accepting someone else’s request to join your world. Most players are friendly and willing to help, so don’t be shy!
